Hello!

That's a pretty good representation of how I've been spending my free time lately.  All I want to do is knit.  I go through phases and am deep into one of those times now.

I'm also watching the Olympics.  I go hot and cold.  Mostly it has to do with the broadcasts more than the sporting events themselves.  I want to watch a variety of sports, not just swimming.  I want to see cycling, rowing, fencing. I like to watch beach volleyball and indoor volleyball.  I want to see it all.

It's been hot here lately and I'm disinclined to sit in front of the computer typing.  Subsequently, I took a break from blogging.  I very much enjoy writing and want to continue.  I still maintain a list of items I want to write about.

I'm not sure if I will get back to posting 2-3 times a week -- I'm going to play it by ear.

Meantime, I hope you're watching the Great British Baking Show.  It is the only reality TV I watch and I really enjoy it.  So nice to see folks playing well with others.

I haven't been watching much television that isn't PBS.  Dancing on the Edge has been good.  I like John Goodman and the rest of the cast.  This season on Endeavor was great, too.  I watched parts of The Tunnel and have enjoyed it, but subtitles and knitting can be a challenge.

Inspector Lewis is coming up -- tonight, I think.

We've been making plans for our trip to the mainland next month.  Just a week. Hard to cram everything in, especially when what I most want to do is hang out in the woods and smell the evergreens.

This winter we will spend some time on Maui, which side trips to Molokai and Lanai via ferry.  I also want to spend another long weekend in Waikiki -- maybe after the new year.

The yard is growing well:  bananas (2 kinds), lilikoi (3 kinds), citrus (4 kinds), mango, avocado, papaya, and lychee.  Oh, and guava, surinam cherry, jaboticaba.  I think that's everything.  Nope.  Forgot pineapple and fig.  Yep.  Lots in the ground.  The only plants bearing fruit are the lilikoi, honey tanneries, and papaya.  We will need to be patient for a few more years before things really produce, but we are off to a good start.

Weather is getting overcast.  We are due for the remnants of tropical storm Howard this afternoon, although it looks like Oahu will once again bear the brunt of the storm.

See you here again soon!
