Netflix in September

A little late in September, but many of these will be around in October as well, here's a list of what's new in Netflix.  I'll highlight my recommendations and put my comments on the list:

September 1st

  • The Amityville Horror (2005)
  • Babel (2006)
  • Bayou Maharajah: The Tragic Genius of James Booker (2013)
  • Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey (1991)
  • Bratz: The Movie (2007)
  • Burn, Burn, Burn (2015)
  • Cats & Dogs (2001)
  • Crashing: Season 1
  • Defiance (2008)  I like the first two seasons of this series.  I haven't watched all of season 3, so I'm not sure I'd recommend it.  Lower budget, for sure, but I'll take my sci fi just about any way I can get it.
  • Easy Fortune Happy Life (2009)
  • Europe’s Last Great Wilderness (2015)
  • The Fierce Wife (2010)
  • Footloose (1984)  I haven't seen this one in years.  Don't watch the remake.  This is a friend of mine's favorite movie. She's the daughter of a minister.  'nuf said.
  • Full Out (2015)
  • Game Winning Hit (Season 1)
  • Heartland (Season 7)  I enjoyed the first few seasons of this series and look forward to watching more.  Spy stuff.
  • Hellevator (Season 1)
  • Hoot (2006)
  • Hope Floats (1998) Like eating potato chips, this movie is a bit of indulgence, but I love watching Harry Connick Jr and the first five minutes of the film are original.
  • I Am the Ambassador (Season 1)
  • Indochina’s Wild Heart (2015)
  • The IT Crowd (Series 5)
  • Jaws (1975) Watched this recently.  There's a reason it's a classic.  Never saw it in the theaters because my mother refused to pay the ridiculous price of $2 to see a movie.  LOL.
  • Jaws 2 (1978)
  • Jaws 3 (1983)
  • Jaws: The Revenge (1987)
  • Joyful Noise (2012)
  • Keepers of the Game (2016)
  • Last Holiday (2006)
  • Lucky Days (Season 1)
  • Man on Wire (2008)
  • Milk Money (1994)
  • Practical Magic (1998)
  • Road Trip (2000)
  • Sam Kinison: Breaking the Rules (2000)
  • Saving Private Ryan (1998) Haven't seen the whole thing, 'bout time.
  • Scary Movie 2 (2001)
  • Shameless (U.S.) (Season 5 & 6)
  • Stomp the Yard (2007)
  • Sweeney Todd (2007)
  • Top Gun (1986) You are wondering why I am recommending this one, right?  Two words: Rick Rossovich.  Google him.  Grew up in the Grass Vally, CA area.  Everyone knew him growing up.  We all thought he'd make it big one day.  He did, in a way.  He was in a few other films as well.  IMDB him.
  • True Grit (1969)  Truly the case of the original and the remake tying for first place.  Hey, isn't that Glen Campbell?
  • U571 (2000)
  • The Wicker Man (2006)
  • Wild Madagascar (2015)
  • The Womanizer (Season 1)

  • Narcos (Season 2)  Lots of buzz, haven't seen it yet.
  • Young & Hungry (Season 4)

September 6th

  • Crash (2004) I remember seeing this film years ago.  I want to watch it again.  Good acting, as I recall.
  • The Finest Hours (2015)
  • Hard Target 2 (2016)
  • Honey 3 (2016)
  • R.L. Stine’s Mostly Ghostly: One Night in Doom House (2016)

September 7th

  • The White Helmets (2016)

September 17th

  • 3 Days to Kill (2014)
  • Luther (Season 4)
  • Penny Dreadful (Season 3) I think I've watched five episodes now.  Still not sure I like it.  What do you think?

September 19th

  • Call the Midwife (Series 5)  Why are we having this conversation?  Watch it,  From the beginning.  Or read the books.  Either way you'll thank me.

  • New Girl (Season 5)
  • Zootopia (2016)

September 22nd

  • Bones (Season 11)
  • Easy (Season 1)
  • Wallander (Series 4) Okay, start here.  Skip the rest of the list.  I'm not kidding.  Start at the beginning.  I heart everything about this series except that it came to an end.  Once you're done, dig up the original (I think it's on Amazon) and watch that, subtitles and all.

September 23rd

  • Audrie & Daisy (2016)
  • Iliza Shlesinger: Confirmed Kills (2016)
  • Last Man Standing (Season 5)
  • Longmire (Season 5) Another series I've enjoyed since the beginning.  I'm not too sure why.  I guess it's because I like the characters.  The first four seasons were good (it builds).  Looking forward to seeing the 5th.  I think this might be the last one.
